Lorenzo Musetti is aiming for a spot in the quarterfinals this Thursday as he faces his compatriot Matteo Berrettini in Monte-Carlo.
During the post-match press conference after defeating Jiri Lehecka, the Italian made a surprising remark.
"I believe in myself more than before, which allows me to react to tough situations. Sometimes, I want to prove myself so much that I end up freezing up.
I can’t afford as many highs, lows, and distractions; I need to be able to fight without dropping my level.
I’ve always been seen as the pretty boy who doesn’t wear his overalls and doesn’t know how to endure. I want that to stop—I’m ready to get my hands dirty in every match."
