"My grandmother sold her apartment to invest in my career," admits Thiem
A professional tennis player's career involves many sacrifices, especially financial ones. For the Jot Down Sport podcast, Dominic Thiem revealed that his grandmother had sold her apartment at the time to invest in his career.
"My grandmother sold her apartment, which obviously represented a considerable sum to invest in my career. Fortunately, that investment paid off.
Even though I was probably 14 or 15 years old and had many other things on my mind, you realize it when you're a child, and it creates enormous pressure."
