Nadal believes in Sinner and Alcaraz: "I'm convinced it will happen".
In a lengthy interview with AS, Rafael Nadal spoke about the two new leaders of the ATP Tour: Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
According to him, these two young wolves will write a fine page in the history of our sport: "Things are cyclical.
An era is coming to an end in which three players have achieved more than any others in the history of our sport.
There's no doubt that it was an era that was unique and special for many reasons.
But we're talking about another era, when a player like Carlos comes along, who has four Grand Slams to his name. Jannik, two.
Every year, there are champions, and if they manage to stay at this level, they will also arouse great interest.
Over time, this interest will grow for obvious reasons, because great stars and great characters are not created in two days.
What makes them great is that they endure over time and arrive at a time that transcends the sport, when people are really going to see these matches, not just because they love tennis, but because they're going to see the characters themselves.
And that, I suppose, will take time, but I'm convinced it will happen."
