Nadal expresses one of the regrets of his career: "I would have loved to win the ATP Finals".
Rafael Nadal bade farewell to the world of professional tennis in November, having written his name among the legends of the sport.
However, although the Spaniard's record is colossal, he never managed to win the Masters.
In fact, he is the only player in history to have competed in the tournament eleven times without winning.
One of the rare failures of his career, which has often been explained by his difficulty in performing indoors after seasons in which he often arrived in a diminished state.
And it was with this argument that he spoke to The National: "I would have liked to have won the ATP Finals, at least once. It's the only major tournament I haven't won.
I was unlucky not to be at my best at the end of the season. On several occasions, I suffered injuries and played against very dangerous players.
All this on very fast indoor courts, and even on carpet at the start. I had my opportunities and I didn't take them."
