Nadal recounts the impossible challenge of the Big 3: "Alone, we could never have achieved it"
Rafael Nadal took the time to recount what made him, along with Federer and Djokovic, one of the three greatest players of all time.
But this time, the Spaniard made a statement that alone summarizes the titanic demands of the Big 3:
"We came after Sampras, who had 14 Grand Slam titles. Being three, and not two, we were never allowed to make a mistake. The requirement was maximum. We constantly pushed each other. Impossible to skip a tournament."
Far from the romanticized view of fans, Nadal reminds us of a reality that few can imagine: playing every major tournament under absolute pressure.
"We were always in the finals of the most important tournaments. I don't think that alone, we could have achieved it."
Through these confidences, Nadal reminds us how much the era he built with Federer and Djokovic remains unique.
