Nadal skips the US Open!
Unsurprisingly, Rafael Nadal has just announced that he won't be playing the US Open this year.
While speculation about his possible retirement continues to rage since his elimination, Nadal made his withdrawal official in New York on social networks.
The Majorcan declared: "Hello everyone, I'm writing today to let you know that I've decided not to take part in this year's US Open, a place where I have incredible memories.
I'll miss those electric and special night sessions in New York, but I don't think I'll be able to give my 100% this time around.
Thanks to all my American fans in particular, I'll miss you all and we'll see you another time.
Good luck to you all for the always incredible US Open! My next event will be the Laver Cup in Berlin."
