New warning for Kyrgios' wrist in his match against Mpetshi Perricard
Nick Kyrgios is back on the tennis courts after a year and a half's absence due to a serious wrist injury.
However, it seems that the injury is still there.
During the third set of his match lost to Mpetshi Perricard (7-6, 6-7, 7-6), the Australian was seen putting a bandage around his wrist, the same one that had to undergo surgery earlier.
He told the press conference: "Already yesterday, during my doubles match, it was as if I'd been hit by a bus.
I was on the treatment table for an hour and a half, before going to bed.
But you know it's going to be like that. I play against professional players; today I played against the biggest server in the world, whereas before I was training in Canberra with unranked players.
I think tomorrow will be a tough day for my wrist. It's very painful at the moment. That's to be expected.
I'll do what I have to do and play my doubles match tomorrow (with Djokovic) for sure.
When I was young, I overdid it and didn't make the necessary recovery efforts.
Reality is catching up with me. But I wouldn't change a thing. I had a lot of fun when I was young."
