New Withdrawal in Paris: Mensik Also Withdraws from the Parisian Masters 1000
Jakub Mensik, not recovered from his injury in Basel, will not be able to take his place at the Paris Masters 1000.
The list of withdrawals for the final Masters 1000 of the season in Paris, starting next week, continues to grow. After the withdrawals of Djokovic, Draper, Paul, Rune, Tsitsipas, Fils, and Tiafoe, another player is forced to pull out of this first edition of the Parisian tournament in the new La Défense Arena venue.
This time, it's Jakub Mensik who has to withdraw. Injured in the foot during the Basel tournament in recent days and forced to retire against João Fonseca in the round of 16, the 20-year-old Czech player, ranked 19th in the world, will not recover in time and therefore will not be present in the French capital.
This withdrawal will benefit a lucky loser at the end of the qualifiers. The winner of the Miami Masters 1000 earlier this season, Mensik should, however, participate in the Next Gen ATP Finals for the second consecutive season in December.
