Nicolas Pietrangeli, a legend of Italian tennis, has passed away at the age of 92
The Rome Masters 1000, one of whose courts is named after Nicolas Pietrangeli, announced the death of the Italian legend this Monday at the age of 92.
A member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame since 1986, he left his mark on world tennis at a time when the sport was beginning its modernization.
He notably won Roland-Garros twice, in 1959 and 1960, as well as the Rome tournament in 1957 and 1961.
