Pas loin de 2 ans après son dernier match officiel, le 9 octobre 2021 à Indian Wells, le Japonais n'a pas manqué ses retrouvailles avec la compétition mardi. Il a battu l'Américain Langmo pour rallier le 2e tour du Challenger de Palmas del Mar.
