The crowd at the Rome Masters 1000 is often a subject of controversy. The latest incident involved fans insulting Jakub Mensik during his match against Fabian Marozsan.
The Czech player even stopped playing to confront them. Yoshihito Nishioka, who lost in the first round in Rome, also shared his past experiences with the Roman crowd.
"I’ve seen this kind of situation in Rome before. A few years ago, I was playing against Sonego, and Italian fans were shouting 'Go sushi.' This year, between games, I was told 'Go China.'
I know it’s only a few people, but it happens often in Rome."
