Noah amazed by the Sinner-Alcaraz final at Roland-Garros: "I don't know if it was PlayStation, but they were playing at 10,000 an hour"
During his appearance on the radio show Super Moscato Show, Yannick Noah expressed his amazement at the quality of play from Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz and shared his experience during the Roland-Garros final (won by Alcaraz in a super tie-break of the fifth set).
Winner of Roland-Garros in 1983, Noah remains a big tennis enthusiast. Very attentive to what happens on the ATP tour, the Frenchman, like many observers, admires the consistency of the world's two best players, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
These two now clearly dominate world tennis and have faced each other in the finals of the last three Grand Slam tournaments. As a guest on the Super Moscato Show on RMC in recent hours, Noah praised the Italian and the Spaniard.
"A year and a half ago, we were saying: 'After the Big 3, there will be nothing for ten years.' Three days later, you have Sinner and Alcaraz arriving and playing at a level... I'm blown away by the level.
It's at least equal if not superior, and these guys are 22 years old. When you know that Nadal reached his best level at 28-29, you realize these guys have great days ahead. It's promising. I don't see who could challenge them.
For the record, I was sitting in the second row (during the 5.5-hour final at Roland-Garros). I settled in, and from the very first point of the match, I don't know if it was PlayStation, but they were playing at 10,000 an hour.
Technically and physically, it was extraordinary. They were hitting in every direction. There was a dramatic side with the match point. And on top of that, I found Sinner so classy in defeat. It was so beautiful. It was a very fine final on every level, it had everything," Noah stated.
