On the verge of elimination, Pegula advances to the Bad Homburg final
In her first appearance at Bad Homburg since 2021, Pegula lived up to her No. 1 seeding by securing a spot in the tournament's final.
Facing Czech player Noskova, the American had to fight hard in the first two sets, trailing 7-6, 5-3, before turning the match around to level the score. Despite a strong first-serve percentage, the 31-year-old made things difficult for herself by lacking efficiency on crucial points, converting only 5 of 15 break opportunities throughout the match. However, she displayed remarkable resilience by winning 10 of the last 11 games.
This performance marks her fifth final of the season. On Saturday, she will attempt to overcome Poland's Swiatek, who defeated Paolini in the previous round.
