Opelka on doubles: "It was the singles players who failed".

On Instagram, Reilly Opelka spoke out about the doubles event. And the least we can say is that the American wasn't kind.
He says: "They should get rid of doubles 100%. It's for the singles players who failed.
They don't sell tickets, they take up practice courts, physios and resources, they don't make a profit and they complain they don't make enough money.
That's pretty greedy behavior, if you ask me.
The best solution would be to reduce the doubles draw to 8 teams and only allow singles players to enter.
Or... get rid of them altogether. This isn't a personal attack on doubles players, it's just a calculation.
It's hard to argue with mathematics. There's no profit in it, so there's no point dwelling on it.
It's hard to argue with uneducated people, it's not about having more money in my pocket.
It's about having more money at the challenger level to give guys the opportunity to afford a trainer and physio, because after all, these are the guys who have the potential to become ticket sellers.
That's how the sport evolves. Again, I don't expect you to understand this concept: it takes common sense and a level of understanding that goes beyond the elementary level."
