Opelka: "I think I'm on the right track
Reilly Opelka was absent from the ATP circuit for a long time between 2022 and 2024, mainly due to back problems.
And while some no longer expected to see him competitive again, the American is raising his game as time goes by.
Qualified for the quarter-finals and expected to be back in the top 100 soon, he was confident about his future.
"I've made a lot of progress since the Australian Open," he declared in an interview after his victory over Cameron Norrie in Dallas.
"I've been doing a lot of rehab on my back. I think I'm on the right track. It's very important to get the most out of the training sessions.
And that's not possible if you face problems with your body and feel pain. I want to concentrate on winning and my tennis."
In the quarter-finals, he faces Tommy Paul.
