Our plan is to play Queen’s, but…," reveals Ferrero, Alcaraz’s coach
Carlos Alcaraz won Roland-Garros this Sunday after an epic but grueling final that lasted 5 hours and 29 minutes.
Juan Carlos Ferrero, the Spaniard’s coach, revealed that his grass-court season is expected to begin at Queen’s, as it does every year, but this exhausting final could jeopardize his participation.
"The plan is to play it, but we’ll make a final decision in a few days. We discussed it midway through the tournament (at Roland-Garros), and Carlos told us he was excited.
After these days of rest, on Thursday or Friday, we’ll do a test to see how he feels physically and mentally. We’ll resume training on grass to fine-tune his mobility issues.
We’ll go to Wimbledon with a lot of enthusiasm; Carlos loves playing there.
