Paire's Career End Darkens: "Will My Body Allow Me to Finish as I Want?"
"I hope this wasn't the last one...": With this meaningful phrase, Benoît Paire reveals the extent of his doubts after a new injury. The Frenchman leaves the mystery hanging over the continuation of his career.
Another prolonged absence for Paire? Ranked beyond 600th place worldwide, he was forced to retire yesterday against Edas Butvilas (1-6, 6-2, 3-0 ret.) in Orléans due to a left knee injury.
Another hard blow for Paire, 36, who recently shared his desire to continue for "one or two more years" if his body would allow it.
On Instagram this Wednesday, the Avignon native confirmed that he will have to step away from the tour for some time to treat his knee:
"Forced to take another break... Thank you for your supportive messages. I hope this wasn't the last one and that my body will give me the chance to finish as I wish."
