Paul, a satisfied Olympic medallist: I really wanted to bring a medal to the United States.

Tommy Paul plays tennis very well.

Number 12 in the world this week, he has put in one good performance after another. After winning the title at Queen's, he reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon before enjoying a fine Olympic Games, beaten only by Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals (6-3, 7-6).

Undaunted, the American went on to win a bronze medal in the men's doubles alongside Taylor Fritz. A present he was desperate to win.

Paul, who defeated Darderi in the first round in Montreal, reflected on his success: "I went to Paris thinking I'd already had an Olympic experience.

This time, I absolutely wanted to bring a medal to the United States.

Fortunately, Fritz and I played some excellent doubles matches and we were able to bounce back from the semi-final defeat and bring something back to the States."
