Paul First to Qualify for Roland-Garros Quarterfinals by Defeating Popyrin
The first men's round of 16 match took place this Sunday morning on Court Suzanne Lenglen between Alexei Popyrin and Tommy Paul. The American, favored in this encounter, lived up to expectations by winning with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
Popyrin was particularly ineffective on break points, converting only one out of the ten he earned. Paul, on the other hand, showed great efficiency by converting five of his six break opportunities.
He will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals, who will play later this Sunday.
