Peaks and Challenges: Gauff Reveals Her Top 5 Memorable Matches of the 2025 Season

Coco Gauff experienced a season full of contrasts. Between a stunning victory at Roland-Garros and disappointments like at Wimbledon, the 21-year-old American reflects on her best moments of the year.
Ranked world No. 3, Gauff had a mixed season overall. While she won her second Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros against Aryna Sabalenka, the 21-year-old American also lost two WTA 1000 finals, in Madrid and Rome, and reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open earlier in the year.
However, Gauff also faced some disappointments, notably at Wimbledon where she fell in her opening match against Dayana Yastremska. Before starting the final part of the season, which will see Gauff attempt to defend the points from her titles in Beijing and at the WTA Finals, the American player ranked her most impressive matches of the season so far.
"Of course, my victory at Roland-Garros is my best memory. Next, I would say the semifinal in Rome (against Zheng Qinwen, a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 win in 3h32), because it was the longest match of my career and it was a special moment.
I could also mention my win against Sofia (Kenin) in Miami—I don’t think I’d ever won a match 6-0, 6-0 in my professional career before that one.
The victory against Madison (Keys, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 in the quarterfinals at Roland-Garros) was very important for me. Before, I might have let my opponent take control, but that wasn’t the case. Finally, the win against Iga (Swiatek) at the United Cup (6-4, 6-4) in January meant a lot to me.
I didn’t want to let my team down, and in terms of gameplay, it was probably one of my best matches of the season," Gauff stated to Tennis Up To Date in recent hours.
