Pennetta on Sinner: "We saw his emotional side for the first time"
Jannik Sinner won the ATP Finals in Turin by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. The Italian successfully defended his title in front of a supportive home crowd.
After the match point, he let his joy explode, collapsing to the ground. An emotion that Flavia Pennetta was keen to highlight.
In comments relayed by Tennis World Italia, she stated: "It was a beautiful and exciting match. In the first set, the quality of play wasn't exceptional: there were a few too many unforced errors, but in the second set, they showed a completely different face.
We saw a Jannik who, despite a less effective serve and some imperfections in his game, managed to win the match. You could see Sinner's emotion; for the first time, we saw his emotional side. I think he experienced this tournament intensely."
