Pharmaceutical company that sold melatonin to Swiatek apologizes

Pharmaceutical company Lekam, which markets melatonin in Poland, has issued a statement in response to the Iga Swiatek affair.

The world No. 2 had, as she had always done, bought her melatonin in Poland. Except that the tablets she took at the beginning of August contained trimetazidine, the substance which made her test positive for doping.

The company responsible for marketing the drug apologized in a lengthy statement: "We are very saddened by the situation that has befallen the world's best player. As pharmaceutical employees, but also as fans of Polish sport, we were moved by her statement.

We are extremely sorry that this incident has affected our melatonin medication, especially as our medication has always been highly appreciated by our customers, including professional athletes.

The melatonin we sell is subject to a strict inspection process. [...] We are ready to cooperate in order to clarify any doubts that may exist."

Sorry.. Same penalty as Sinner.

If an exception is allowed for her, then an exception should be allowed for Sinner.
