Qualified for the quarters, Djokovic thanks Geneva: "I'm really surprised by the support".

This Wednesday, Novak Djokovic celebrated his 37th birthday on the courts. A fairly straightforward winner over Yannick Hanfmann (6-3, 6-3), the Serb seemed quite satisfied with his level of play, with the exception of the small air pocket he suffered at the start of the second set (when the match resumed after the break).
Asked about his first win, he declared: "I'm happy with my level. I played well, apart from the last game of the first set and the first three of the second. It's a good win."
Received as a prince in Geneva, the Serb confessed himself surprised by the quality of the welcome offered by the Swiss tournament. Honored with a pretty birthday cake brought onto the court just after his victory, the world number 1 was very grateful: "I'm really surprised by the support and positive energy I've received today, and over the last two days. Thank you all!"
