Raducanu drops Nakamura and hires a new physio!
The rumor had been circulating for several weeks: Emma Raducanu would no longer be working with fitness trainer Yutaka Nakamura, a former collaborator of Maria Sharapova.
After a year marked by the Japanese trainer's prolonged absence for personal reasons and his surprising reappearance in Grigor Dimitrov's camp, the British player has chosen to turn the page.
Emma Stewart, the new key piece
The newcomer is named Emma Stewart, an experienced physiotherapist, former WTA staff member, and recent collaborator with the British men's rowing team.
Stewart will take on the dual and crucial role of physiotherapist and fitness trainer, at least in the short term. A decisive mission for a player whose body has often hindered her meteoric rise.
Roig stays: a rare piece of good news
Francisco Roig, a former key member of the Nadal clan, officially remains on the team. Tested this summer after Mark Petchey's departure, he provided technical continuity that Raducanu did not want to lose.
Despite a season cut short by her injury, the results and working relationship convinced both parties.
Pre-season accelerates: Barcelona before the United Cup
Training resumes in a few days in Barcelona, with the entire team, including the new physio. And the goal is clear: to be ready from the start of 2026.
Because Raducanu will compete in the United Cup (January 2 to 11, 2026), notably partnering with Jack Draper.
