Radwanska: "They have their reasons for not taking part in the Olympics".

Radwanska: They have their reasons for not taking part in the Olympics.

Some choices are more talked about than others.

For example, the decision by several leading players to skip the Olympic Games continues to cause a stir.
Some athletes, such as Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur and Emma Raducanu, were concerned about returning to clay just after the grass-court season, and made a strong choice.

In order to preserve their bodies for the American tour, they opted not to compete at the Paris Games.

While this decision has been widely criticized by some followers, Agnieszka Radwanska, former world number 2, was keen to come to the defense of the main players concerned.

In comments reported by "Tennis 365", she declared: "You can never know how the girls feel, and they have their reasons for not taking part in the Olympic Games.

The tennis calendar is so tight.
You have tournaments practically every two weeks and you prepare for that.

You know it's going to be a tough year at the Olympics. You also have to listen to your body to know what's good for you.

That's why it's difficult to comment on a player's withdrawal from an event, because it's all about how she feels. They know better than we do.

They do what's right for them. It's always an individual matter."
