Trois semaines après son sacre à l'US Open, la désormais n°3 mondiale n'a pas manqué son retour à la compétition à Pékin. Malgré un trou d'air dans le 1er set, elle a disposé sans frayeur d'Alexandrova et elle retrouvera Martic au 2e tour.
