While the Rome Masters 1000 is already introducing big changes with the construction of three new stadiums, the organizers aren’t stopping there. Marco Mezzaroma, president of Sport e Salute, a company that promotes sports and healthy lifestyles, has made a major announcement regarding the Roman tournament.
The Italian revealed that the center court will be upgraded with a retractable roof, with construction set to begin in 2026.
"A process, which has already begun, took two and a half years to equip the Foro Italico park with a multifunctional facility that can host events 150 days a year, welcoming sports competitions from 18 different disciplines. A 60-million-euro investment that will bring the Foro Italico into a new dimension," he stated during the "Points of View" conference promoted by FITP and Sport e Salute.
