Robson on Kyrgios: "It would be very interesting if they played each other".
Eurosport tennis consultant Laura Robson recently reflected on Nick Kyrgios' controversial comments.
As a reminder, the Australian had declared that, if he faced Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open, he would have no respect for him and would do anything to win.
Asked about this, Robson said: "I don't think you want to find yourself in a situation where all respect disappears. If we can avoid it, that would be great.
It would be very interesting if they played each other, especially in the early rounds, because Nick is an unpredictable player. But if you play him in the first round, you know you won't have any rhythm and you'll often walk from one side of the court to the other because he'll give you aces.
I think the match would have to be pretty close for the public to get that involved, don't you? The score would have to be close and there'd have to be something for them to hang on to. I'd like to say he's got that challenge in his hands, first to keep the score very close, and then we'll see. Because we know Sinner will be very effective in that situation too."
