Roddick reveals: "It looks like an animal lives in Nadal's foot"

Roddick has revealed the impressive condition of Nadal's foot after his retirement, describing an almost unreal scene that illustrates the physical toll of high-level tennis.
Injured multiple times throughout his career and having pushed his body to the limits, Rafael Nadal retired last year in November. Since then, the Spaniard has been somewhat discreet in the media, although he made an appearance on Andy Roddick's podcast Served.
A few months later, on the occasion of the Laver Cup and Roger Federer's presence, the American revealed an anecdote about the state of Nadal's foot, which he was able to see during the podcast recording:
"Rafa was great (on his podcast). You mentioned your knee (addressing Federer) and he talked to me about his injuries. I'm telling you this so everyone knows how physically tough it is for the players.
He took off his shoe in front of me. It looks like there’s an animal living inside his foot. It's disgusting! (Federer starts laughing and agrees). I wish you could see it, but I wouldn't wish anyone to see that."
