Roland-Garros 2025: Five Frenchwomen Eliminated in the First Round of Qualifications This Tuesday

Six French players were on the courts of Roland-Garros this Tuesday as part of the continuation of the first round of qualifications. While Fiona Ferro, Julie Belgraver, Margaux Rouvroy, and Carole Monnet cleared this hurdle on Monday, only Daphnée Mpetshi Perricard emulated her compatriots on Tuesday.
Giovanni's little sister eliminated Gabriela Knutson early in the day, but the day then took a turn for the worse for the French team. On the Suzanne-Lenglen court, Selena Janicijevic was defeated by Wang Xiyu, the 29th seed in the qualifications (1-6, 6-1, 6-2), while shortly after, Tessah Andrianjafitrimo was overpowered by Katarzyna Kawa (6-4, 6-3).
On the outside courts, the other French players did not fare much better. Sixteen-year-old Eleejah Inisan faced Maria Carle and was soundly beaten by the Argentine player (6-2, 6-1).
Ksenia Efremova, also invited by the organizers, couldn't outdo Anna-Lena Friedsam (6-1, 7-5). Lastly, Cindy Langlais gave Maja Chwalinska some trouble, but the Pole ultimately prevailed (6-4, 4-6, 6-0).
