Rolex Paris Masters: Rublev Ends Losing Streak with Authority
After weeks of uncertainty, the Russian delivered a match full of control in the first round in Paris. Solid, aggressive, and inspired, Rublev has finally rediscovered the tennis we know him for. A good omen ahead of a tricky second-round match against Learner Tien.
A flawless start for Andrey Rublev at the Rolex Paris Masters. On a run of five consecutive defeats, the Russian was hoping to get back on track for his final tournament of the 2025 season.
He rediscovered the taste of victory in style, winning 6-1, 6-4 against Jacob Fearnley on the main court. He hadn't won a match on the tour since the third round of the US Open in late August.
Seeded No. 12 in the draw, Rublev will face Learner Tien in the second round. This match will be played tomorrow in the final slot on Court No. 1.
Among the other first-round matches this Monday, Alexander Bublik held his ground against Alexei Popyrin. The Kazakh, still in the running for the ATP Finals, won 6-4, 6-3 and will face either Corentin Moutet or Reilly Opelka in the next round.
