Rolex Paris Masters: Zverev Dominates Davidovich Fokina and Will Face Medvedev in the Quarterfinals

Defending champion Alexander Zverev controlled Davidovich Fokina (6-2, 6-4) and earns a quarterfinal that smells like revenge. Facing Medvedev, against whom he has suffered five consecutive defeats this year, the German will be keen to shine.
After a laborious start to the tournament against Camilo Ugo Carabelli (5-7, 6-1, 7-6), Alexander Zverev faced Alejandro Davidovich Fokina this evening, one of the most in-form players of this end of the season, a finalist in Basel.
Impeccable behind his serve, winning 75% of the points on his first serve, the German quickly ended the Spaniard's run by winning 6-2, 6-4 in just over an hour and a half. The defending champion of this 39th edition of the Rolex Paris Masters, the world No. 3 thus advances to the quarterfinals.
There, he will face Daniil Medvedev for a 22nd duel against the Russian. Zverev had lost in their two encounters this year in Halle and Beijing and is on a streak of five consecutive defeats against Medvedev.
