Rune gives reassuring news about his rehabilitation: "Everything is going very well"
Holger Rune does not yet know precisely how long he will be absent from the circuit. Suffering a complete Achilles tendon rupture in the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm in October against Ugo Humbert, the Dane will miss the majority of the 2026 season at a minimum. After his surgery, the 22-year-old player was seen on the court training, sitting on a chair or hopping on one foot.
Rune has started phase 2 of his rehabilitation after his Achilles tendon rupture
A risky method but one that demonstrates the player's motivation to return to competition as quickly as possible. Moreover, on his Instagram account, Rune gave an update on the progress of his rehabilitation, and the information reported by the main person himself is reassuring. The winner of the 2022 Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 has already begun the second phase of his rehabilitation in recent hours.
"It has now been 5 and a half weeks since the operation and here is a super geeky post about the progress of my ankle. Everything is going very well in phase 2 of my rehabilitation and I feel good. I am grateful for the help provided by all the people involved and my entourage," wrote Rune, who also shared images of himself in the rehabilitation room.
