Rune sends a message to Ruud: "We all remember Rome 2023".
Holger Rune and Casper Ruud will face off on November 30 and December 3 at the Nordic Battle, an exhibition born of their rivalry on the ATP circuit.
The exhibition kicks off in Asker, Norway, where a first match will be played between the two players. Rune and Ruud will then meet in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, for a second face-off.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Rune shared his motivation on his X account with a clip of his only victory on the circuit against the Norwegian and these few words: "It's time to change the statistics.
Casper may have a serious head start in our head-to-heads, but we all remember Rome 2023. Let's bring some crazy energy to the Royal Arena on December 3."
The Dane is referring here to his only victory over Ruud, achieved in the quarter-finals of the Rome 2023 Masters 1000.
Indeed, it's the Norwegian who leads by a wide margin in their head-to-heads, with six wins to just one defeat.
