Rune Successfully Operated on After Serious Injury: The Dane Can Begin His Rehabilitation

Seriously injured during his semifinal in Stockholm against Ugo Humbert, Holger Rune has been successfully operated on in recent hours.
Rune feared the worst, in tears on his chair after getting injured, and the verdict came a few hours later. The Danish player, world number 10, was present at the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm last week and had managed to reach the semifinals in the Swedish capital after victories against Marton Fucsovics and Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Unfortunately for him, he suffered a complete rupture of the Achilles tendon during his match against French player Ugo Humbert. The winner of the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 had won the first set before suffering this terrible injury at the start of the second set.
Rune, 22, will be out for many months. While awaiting a return, the Dane has been successfully operated on in recent hours, as announced by his mother Aneke in a story posted on her Instagram account.
"I am delighted that the operation went well, I will overcome this ordeal. I know it takes patience, but I will work hard every day during my rehabilitation and give everything I have to come back stronger," Rune assured on social media.
