Ruud impressed: "Alcaraz and Sinner defend like Djokovic!"
Present in London this weekend for the UTS final, Casper Ruud made the rounds of the media present on site and gave an interview to Tennis365.
The Norwegian, who won his first Masters 1000 in Madrid this year, discussed the absolute dominance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, while briefly comparing them to legends of the game.
"With Carlos and Jannik, neither side is a weakness"
"Rafa always hit his forehand with full power, but he had more topspin on the backhand. Now, with Carlos and Jannik... neither side is a weakness. Whether it's the backhand or the forehand, it doesn't matter: they can hit hard from both sides.
And on top of that, they move very well, physically. They really move exceptionally. Jannik has always been able to hit extremely hard, but one of the areas where he has stepped up is his movement.
You see him sliding, defending all over the court. It's the same for Carlos, and I feel like they defend a bit like Novak used to.", said the current world number 12.
