Casper Ruud is competing at the Barcelona tournament, where he will face Holger Rune in the quarterfinals this Friday, aiming to defend the title he won last year.
When asked about the current heterogeneity in tennis, he replied: "Over the last 20 to 25 years, there were three or four players who dominated and shared most of the tournaments.
Today, everything is more open, although for me, Sinner and Alcaraz have been the two best over the last three years, and it's hard to compete with them.
They also lose matches and aren’t unbeatable. The problem they have is that their rivals are especially motivated to beat them.
It’s not easy to be in Carlos and Jannik’s position. I’m part of that group of tennis players who would like to stop them."
