Ruud wins convincingly against the 206th player in the world in the second round of the Olympic Games

Casper Ruud came through the second round of the Olympic Games against Italy's Andrea Vavassori (4-6, 6-4, 6-3). The Norwegian had to endure the game of his opponent, who broke in the 7th game of the first set. More aggressive after the end of the first set, he didn't concede a break point for the rest of the match.

This success means he has reached the third round of the Olympic Games for the first time in his career. There, he will face Francisco Cerundolo, last week's winner of the Umag tournament.

As a reminder, the Argentinian is leading 3-2 in the head-to-head and their confrontations are generally closely contested.

Three sets isn't convincingly. Ruud having to go three sets against the 206th player in the world should have Casper a bit concerned, actually.
