Sabalenka First Player to Qualify for WTA Finals in Riyadh

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is living up to her ranking in the 2025 season. A finalist in the first two Grand Slams of the year, the Belarusian is in top form.
With 47 wins since January, Sabalenka has already played seven WTA finals this season, securing three titles (Brisbane, Miami, and Madrid) and suffering four defeats (Australian Open, Indian Wells, Stuttgart, and Roland Garros).
Currently competing at Wimbledon, the Belarusian secured her spot in the semifinals after a hard-fought victory over Laura Siegemund (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) and will face Amanda Anisimova in an attempt to reach her first final at the London Grand Slam.
Before stepping onto the court to face the American, Sabalenka received excellent news that will ease some of the pressure in the second half of her season.
Indeed, with 7,395 points in the Race, Sabalenka has already secured her place in the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh, which brings together the top eight players of the calendar year.
Guaranteed to surpass 12,000 points in the WTA rankings after Wimbledon, the 27-year-old Sabalenka will compete in the WTA Finals for the fifth consecutive time. She has never won the event, despite reaching the final in 2022 against Caroline Garcia. The Belarusian also fell in the semifinals in the last two editions.
