Sabalenka-Gauff, Pegula-Paolini: Thursday, November 6th Schedule at the WTA Finals

Sabalenka-Gauff, Pegula-Paolini: Thursday, November 6th Schedule at the WTA Finals

The group stage of the 2025 WTA Finals concludes this Thursday with suspense in both of the day's singles matches to wrap up the Steffi Graf Group.

Who will join Elena Rybakina and Amanda Anisimova in the semifinals of the WTA Finals? The identity of the last two qualifiers will be known in the coming hours at the end of the final day of the group stage of the 2025 WTA Finals. The Steffi Graf Group will deliver its verdict, and three players can still reach the semifinals: Sabalenka, Gauff, and Pegula.

With two losses in two matches and an elimination in doubles with Sara Errani, Jasmine Paolini will end her season against Jessica Pegula. With one win and one loss, the American must win to hope to qualify.

The match will begin at 3:00 PM French time. Following that, Aryna Sabalenka will face Coco Gauff, the defending champion. The situation is simple for the world number one, who is not yet qualified despite her two opening victories.

Sabalenka will thus be guaranteed to finish top of her group if she takes a set against Gauff. The latter will know the result of her compatriot Pegula before playing, but if Pegula wins, Gauff will absolutely need to beat Sabalenka to hope to reach the semifinals. In their head-to-head record, Gauff leads 6-5 against her opponent of the day.

Two doubles matches will be on the schedule as usual. Early in the day, Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe will face Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani. To close the day after the two singles matches, an enticing matchup will take place between the pairs Katerina Siniakova/Taylor Townsend and Mirra Andreeva/Diana Shnaider.
