Sabalenka: "It's not a question of being favourite for the title or not".
Aryna Sabalenka is the overwhelming favorite to win the US Open title after Iga Swiatek's elimination. As she takes on American Emma Navarro in the semi-finals this Thursday, the Belarusian explained that she doesn't consider this favorite status to be important.
Aryna Sabalenka:
"If you reach Top 5 level in the world, everyone will consider you a favourite anyway. But as I always say, it's not about being favourite, it's about how much you're prepared to fight for it (the title). There will be difficult moments in the matches, when you don't feel at your best, and you'll have to deal with them.
That's what counts. But I'm really happy to be considered a favorite and I'll do my best to hold up this magnificent trophy."
