Sabalenka reaches the second round safely

Aryna Sabalenka didn't miss her debut on Monday.

Opposed to the modest Priscilla Hon (203rd, qualifier), Sabalenka controlled the proceedings very well to qualify.

Although she didn't play very well, the Belarusian capitalized on the confidence she had built up, managing the important points perfectly to win in just 2 sets (6-3, 6-3 in 1h18).

The world number 2, who won the title in Cincinnati a few days ago, was once again able to rely on her powerful strokes for victory.

For a place in the third round, she will face Bronzetti, who took advantage of Sun's withdrawal (6-3 ab.).
