Schwartzman treats himself to one last thrill at the US Open!
Does Diego Schwartzman still have a few good shots left in him?
After announcing the end of his career next February, Diego Schwartzman won the right to take part in the US Open main draw for the last time on Thursday.
Back to playing better tennis than he had for several months, the Argentine mastered his qualifying matches very well, not dropping a single set.
Even beating Tirante (7-5, 6-4), ranked 95th in the world and seeded number 1 in the second round of qualifying, 'El Peque' was able to express his delight at his solid final-round win over Gaubas (6-4, 6-4).
Schwartzman's brilliance means he'll be in action in New York, where the first round is due to start on Monday.
