Shang withdraws from Indian Wells just before the draw
A few hours before the main draw of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, Juncheng Shang withdrew from the tournament.
Although he was seen training yesterday alongside Qinwen Zheng, the world No. 55 apparently encountered a physical issue that forced him to withdraw.
After an interesting start to the season where he reached the semifinals in Hong Kong, Shang has not played since January 12 and a first-round exit at the Australian Open.
Alexander Shevchenko benefits from this withdrawal to enter the main draw directly.
