Video - Recap of the Huge 2022 Indian Wells Semifinal Between Nadal and Alcaraz
Two days before the start of the main draw matches at Indian Wells, the YouTube channel Tennis TV took the opportunity to republish the highlights of the semifinal that pitted Rafael Nadal against Carlos Alcaraz during the 2022 edition.
Nadal, then world No. 4 and undefeated since the start of the season (with titles in Melbourne, the Australian Open, and Acapulco), faced Alcaraz, the tournament's 19th seed and already considered the future of Spanish tennis.
The showdown between the two lived up to expectations, with Nadal and Alcaraz delivering a 3-hour and 12-minute battle to the Indian Wells crowd, ultimately won by the more experienced of the two players with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 (see video below).
A hard-fought victory that came at a cost for Nadal, as the Mallorcan suffered a rib injury towards the end of the match. In the final, hampered by the injury, he was unable to defend his chances against Taylor Fritz.
