Indian Wells ATP Draw: Djokovic and Alcaraz in the Same Section of the Draw
The Indian Wells men's draw has been revealed and will offer some very interesting matches.
On the French side, Alexandre Müller will face Thiago Seyboth Wild, Corentin Moutet will play against Jordan Thompson, Benjamin Bonzi against Jenson Brooksby, and Gaël Monfils will meet Jan Lennard Struff.
As for Quentin Halys, he will face a qualifier. The surprise of this early season, Joao Fonseca, has drawn Jacob Fearnley.
Nick Kyrgios, also present at Indian Wells, will also play against a qualifier, to face Novak Djokovic in the second round.
The Serb has not received an easy draw, as he could potentially face Alex de Minaur or Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 16, then Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals.
The Spaniard, benefiting from a bye as a seeded player, will face Halys or a qualifier in the second round, then potentially Denis Shapovalov.
In the round of 16, he could face Grigor Dimitrov, followed by Djokovic in the quarterfinals and Andrey Rublev or Taylor Fritz in the semifinals.
As for Alexander Zverev, the No. 1 seed at Indian Wells, who has never been very successful in California, he will face Tallon Griekspoor or Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round.
In the round of 16, he could cross paths with Frances Tiafoe, before potentially playing against Holger Rune or Stefanos Tsitsipas. He would play a potential semifinal against Casper Ruud or Daniil Medvedev.
