Sinner Dominates Head and Shoulders on Hard," Bartoli Analyzes the Alcaraz-Sinner Rivalry
On RMC Sport, former French player Marion Bartoli reflected on the Wimbledon final where world number 1 Sinner claimed victory. According to her, this win is more than logical given the Italian's fortnight:
"Based on his level displayed during the semifinal and the final, it's impossible to beat him. I don't see a player capable of challenging him. Even the first set, he loses it because Carlos produces 4 games from another universe. Everything he delivers in all aspects of the game is above, but Alcaraz said it himself.
At Roland-Garros, there was something magical, astonishing, here it's more real and completely logical because he manages to reach levels of play that are unattainable for other players. In all aspects of the game he is ahead, he has also improved his service and his down-the-line backhands were the key to the match."
Regarding future confrontations between the two players, the 2013 Wimbledon champion believes that Sinner has a clear advantage over his Spanish rival:
"We know, on hard surfaces, Sinner dominates head and shoulders, so for the next two Grand Slams, I don't see how they can't be his. Okay, Alcaraz is ahead in the recent matches, but, except in Rome, it's always been close, so we can't talk about an ultra-domination of the Spaniard. Alcaraz's lows come at a high cost against a player like Sinner.
