Sinner downplays his status: "We athletes don't change the world"
Jannik Sinner gave an interview to the director of Sky Sport: Federico Ferri (Sky Sport), in which he discussed his profession as an athlete.
"I've always thought that we, the athletes, don't change the world. That's what I've always thought. Afterwards, everyone has their idols. At the beginning, it was Andreas Seppi, because he was the only one I knew. Then later, when I got a bit more into tennis, it became Roger (Federer).
I also met Rafa Nadal, an incredibly humane person, and Novak (Djokovic), who is very good at what he does. But you realize that the world doesn't change because of them. On the contrary, the difference is made by you, the public, who almost manage to bring life back or solve problems that seem impossible.
You do incredible things! We, we just play with a ball that we try to hit onto the court. There's not much more to it. There are those who do it well, and those who don't do it well. But we don't change lives."
A testimony that once again shows the great humility of the San Candido native.
