Sinner on his doping affair: Becoming aware of a lot of things.

Jannik Sinner recently gave a lengthy interview to Sky Sports.

Discussing a wide range of subjects, the world number 1 in particular returned to the infamous doping affair involving her.

As a reminder, the Italian tested positive in March, was cleared by an independent tribunal and now faces an appeal from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is calling for a suspension of one to two years.

Sinner explains that the affair was difficult to deal with, but that it enabled him to find out who his friends really were: "The most difficult moment, in my opinion, was when the news broke.

And it came at a very delicate time, because it was before a Grand Slam (French Open).

I'd already planned to train on Wednesday, but the news broke on Tuesday and we decided it would be better not to, as it would be too noisy at the club, so we went on Thursday evening.

We got there and it was really hard. I looked at the other players to see what they were really thinking.

I asked myself so many questions, it was hard to prepare for a Grand Slam like that.

But in the end, I'm convinced that nothing happens by chance, and maybe in this case, it was about understanding who your friend is and who isn't.

And I separated those two things.

I realized that there were a lot of players that I didn't think were my friends, that they were, and there were quite a few that I thought were my friends and weren't.

And it didn't make me feel good, but it made me realize a lot of things."
