Sinner: "Tsitsipas is a completely different opponent".
Jannik Sinner takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas this Saturday in the semi-finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000. His transition to clay is going wonderfully well so far, as evidenced by his fine victory over Holger Rune (6-4, 6-7, 6-3) in the quarter-finals on Friday.
The Italian is therefore very confident, but he remains wary of the Greek, who seems to be rising from the ashes in Monaco, where he has often shone in the past.
Jannik Sinner: "It's the first clay-court tournament of the season. So results don't mean much. But I'm happy with my level of play. I played a great match in the quarters (against Rune) and I hope that will give me confidence for the semi-final (against Tsitsipas).
Against Stefanos, it'll be different, he's a completely different opponent (compared to Rune). He's won the title twice (2021, 2022) and he loves the conditions here. I'm looking forward to it and I hope it'll be a great match. I also hope this match will help me for the rest of the clay-court season."
